Welcome to Shirt Monsters, proudly operating from Williamsburg, Virginia. What began in late 2022 as Crypto Zoo has grown far beyond the cryptid-inspired shop we originally imagined. After three incredible years of growth, creativity, and support from customers around the world, we decided it was time for a new name that better represents what we do and the community we’ve built.
In the beginning, Crypto Zoo focused heavily on Bigfoot, UFOs, cryptids, and paranormal culture. Over time, the store evolved naturally into something much bigger. Horror, goth, punk rock, heavy metal, retro pop culture, dark humor, monsters, gaming, underground aesthetics, and strange art all found their way into the mix. Eventually we realized the shop had become a home for all kinds of weirdness, not just cryptids. Shirt Monsters was born from that evolution.
We’re Patrick and Chris, a husband-and-wife team raised on punk records, horror movies, late-night ghost shows, vintage monster culture, and alternative fashion. Every design starts in-house and is created with the same love for individuality, nostalgia, rebellion, humor, and the strange corners of pop culture that inspired us growing up.
Our son Bryce brings modern gaming culture and chaotic creative energy into the world of Shirt Monsters, while Nicely, our loyal shop dog, continues supervising operations like a tiny furry middle manager who accepts payment exclusively in treats.
We work with trusted professional printing partners to produce high-quality apparel and accessories using responsibly sourced materials whenever possible. Our goal has always been simple: create designs we’d genuinely want to wear ourselves. Comfortable, durable, expressive clothing made for people who never quite fit into the ordinary world.
Shirt Monsters is more than a store. It’s a gathering place for horror fans, punks, goths, gamers, weirdos, metalheads, cryptid hunters, night owls, retro lovers, and anyone who likes their style with a little more personality.
